You forced me,
Once I reached the crossing of the bridge-
You forced me,
To burn it down.
Behind me, bantering,
Arrogantly making barded stories of
All the tales,
You had won over other's--
They weren't even your enemies.
You scoffed that my heart was yours to cage...
As I listened intently in front of you...
leading the way.
When I looked back now...
The eyes of a Phoenix
I saw only your demons bolstering and brooding around you.
You drank together, on every journey...
and they have been the truest company you keep.
You consulted them...
To handle me.
The mistake of course,
Your arrogance.
Your lack of sight, at knowing just which annointed soul
You betrayed.
The hand of god,
Took my arm,
And raised it to the sky,
And set it on fire...
And said
"Here"....
"Now is the time".
And I did.
What I swore I would never do.
I set it all on fire.
Your eyes never knowing what's hitting you...
My heart,
Cold with the extinguish you grew.
I set the bridge on fire...
Mind you, desperately in my human frame...
I pleaded at your knees warning you...
For Spirit beseeched me prophecy...
Prophecy only you mocked.
and I stood there and watched.
Likened to watching an opposing King in battle, mantled upon a burning, like Brother, whom I loved...
My heart was cold
With the what just was.
It is a soldier's malice.
Justice
Running over with only blood.
It was never my way...
Rather, but what then, I was set out to do.
A role play.
A karmic test and torch.
And I'm sorry my Kin...
But you lose.
