In Love & War: The Devil & His Alibi

What did in fact happen,

   Between us...

  You left me abandoned,

     Utterly and hopelessly...

      On my own.

What blows I took,

   Evidence thrown...

I had to process all that occurred;

What neglect, and left so alone.

You ravanged,

  and ranted,

     and raved and drank...

Convincing yourself alone.

Leaving me there, wretchedly tormented,

  to mend what you'd unsown.

But I've found

  That mending the broken

Is not so easy a task alone.

In fact the heart, which I endure to love,

That heart which is my own...

It seems the thread, not enough to mend...

  The breaking of her Soul.

Or perhaps alone, it was the thread that broke,

  That rendered us as one.

My Soul is cracked,

  But I find myself,

Honoring me more, than you have done.
